LAHORE (Kashmir English): President of the Istehkam-e-Pakistan Party (IPP), Abdul Aleem Khan, has urged the people of Azad Jammu and Kashmir to exercise their right to vote responsibly, saying that the ballot is a sacred trust and the people alone will decide their future.
In his video message, President of the Istehkam-e-Pakistan Party, Abdul Aleem Khan, has appealed to the people of Azad Jammu and Kashmir, especially the youth, to use their votes in the upcoming elections with utmost responsibility, awareness, and keeping in mind the national interest.
Aleem Khan said that to ensure sustainable development and economic stability of Azad Kashmir, it is essential to develop effective sources of earning money from within the region.
It will not be possible to launch any project for development and ensuring the welfare of the people until Azad Kashmir becomes strong economically and earns more.
He pointed out that investment in the region of Azad Kashmir is urgently required.
The government needs to provide such an environment where investors can feel free to invest their money; the industries and trade flourish, and more avenues for economic development emerge.
Further, he said that not only will such an investment bring economic strength to the region but also will provide many job opportunities to our unemployed youth, especially our daughters and sons.
Abdul Aleem Khan, president of IPP, stated that Azad Kashmir is blessed with natural beauty, scenic valleys, and incomparable places for tourists; therefore, the development of tourism would serve as a base for developing the region.
He pointed out that the proper development of the tourism industry in accordance with the latest requirements, the improvement of basic facilities, and increased investment in this field would not only increase revenue in Azad Kashmir, but the economy would also become stable, there would be a lot of business activities, and thousands of youngsters would get employment.
According to Abdul Aleem Khan, elections allow people to make a change in their fate every 5 years, therefore, while voting, they should think about their children’s bright future, development of their region, prosperity of Azad Kashmir and a better future for the next generation, rather than thinking about personal relations and temporary slogans.
He urged not to believe those individuals who had kept making great promises in the past, but did not fulfill them after gaining power.
The views of those politicians who try to develop and serve before each election but forget the issues of the public once they succeed should be taken into consideration based on their performance, integrity and service to the community.
Abdul Aleem Khan, while addressing the youth, said they should not confine themselves to only voting and instead should also take their parents, elders, and family members to the polling station and make them understand that they should vote not for themselves but for their family, region and future of Azad Kashmir.
It is the duty of the youth to politically educate the members of their families to select the right candidates having vision for honesty, service, merit and development.
Abdul Aleem Khan stated that every citizen should reflect upon the deprivations in his/her region, problems of Azad Kashmir, the past injustices and broken promises made by the government to the citizens before voting.
He further added that now the people of Azad Kashmir have a great opportunity of choosing a better and much developed future as compared to their present one.
IPP Khan requested all Kashmiri brothers and sisters to actively join the democratic process and exercise their right to vote in order to make a choice, which would help them create a beautiful Azad Kashmir that would be more developed and prosperous than present day Azad Kashmir.
He once again confirmed that the IPP would fight for public service, economic stability, transparency in governance, jobs for the young generation, investments and overall development of Azad Kashmir.
