ISLAMABAD (Kashmir English): Pakistan has lodged a strong protest over the killing of two Pakistani civilians by personnel of the Indian Border Security Force (BSF) in the Bedian Sector along the International Border on 2 October 2026.
According to a statement issued by the Foreign Ministry, “The Indian Chargé d’Affaires was summoned to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs today.
The Foreign Ministry, in its statement, said that ” Such use of force was wholly unjustified and grossly disproportionate, resulting in the tragic loss of two precious lives. Pakistan categorically rejects any attempt to mischaracterize the deceased as “infiltrators”.
The demarche issued to the Indian Chargé d’Affaires underscores that it’s a serious violation of fundamental human rights, including the right to life, and raises serious concerns regarding the protection of civilian life under international law.
“The Indian side was called upon to conduct an immediate, transparent and credible investigation into the incident, take appropriate disciplinary and legal action against those found responsible, and formally communicate the findings and action taken to the Government of Pakistan,” the statement added.
According to the FO, “India was further urged to ensure respect for fundamental human rights and international law, strictly observe relevant bilateral arrangements and established border procedures, exercise maximum restraint in dealing with such situations, and take effective measures to prevent the recurrence of such incidents”
Indian BSF martyrs two Pakistanis in ‘unprovoked’ firing along int’l border
Earlier, Indian Border Security Force (BSF) martyred two “unarmed” Pakistani citizens and injured a third near the Pakistan-India international border in Punjab’s Kasur district, security sources said on Friday.
The three men, reportedly residents of Ladhar village, had moved a few steps beyond a border pillar when BSF personnel allegedly opened fire on them without warning.
According to the sources, “all three men were unarmed” and were targeted by BSF’s unprovoked firing.
The deceased were identified as Azmat Rasool Shah and Mohsin Jatt, both residents of Jattan Wali Haveli in Ladhar village. The third individual sustained injuries in the incident.
The security sources also debunked Indian media’s propaganda over the incident, saying that India has kept the false flag operation alive and declared innocent civilians as intruders.
