ISLAMABAD (Kashmir English): Pakistan has extended the closure of its airspace for Indian-registered aircraft by another month, the Pakistan Airports Authority (PAA) said on Saturday.

The NOTAM stated that the aircraft managed, owned, or leased by Indian airlines or operators, including military flights, over its airspace will be restricted from using Pakistani airspace. “The ban will now remain in effect until August 24,” the PAA said.

The airspace restriction, which was set to expire at 4:59 am on July 24, will now continue for another month until August 24, 2026.

Pakistan first banned its airspace for Indian aircraft on Apr 23, 2025, after tensions escalated between the neighbors over the Pahalgam attack in Indian-occupied Jammu and Kashmir.

Islamabad barred Indian airlines from using its airspace after New Delhi suspended the Indus Waters Treaty following the Pahalgam attack.

India accused Pakistan of involvement in the attack, an allegation Pakistan has firmly denied while calling for an independent and transparent investigation.

In response to Pakistan’s decision, India closed its airspace to Pakistani airlines on April 30 last year.
