ISLAMABAD (Kashmir English): In occupied Jammu and Kashmir, India’s illegal occupation and state terrorism, ongoing for the past 37 years, have forced thousands of Kashmiris to abandon their homes and migrate outside the occupied territory.

A report released today by Kashmir Media Service on the occasion of World Refugee Day states that as this day is celebrated worldwide, more than 40,000 Kashmiris, including men, women, and children, have been forced to live as refugees since 1989.

In Jammu alone, Dogra forces and RSS Hindu fanatics displaced millions of Muslims in 1947. Since 1947, over 3.5 million Kashmiris have sought refuge in Azad Kashmir, Pakistan, the UK, and other countries.

Kashmiris being forcibly displaced

The report states that the Muslim majority in occupied Jammu and Kashmir is being forcibly displaced in a bid to convert it into a minority while taking benefit of the Indian government’s new domicile law. The aim of which is to change the demographic ratio in the occupied territory and turn it into a Hindu state.

The report urged the international community to take notice of India’s nefarious and anti-Kashmir plans in occupied Jammu and Kashmir and pressure it to resolve the Kashmir dispute.

It called on the United Nations Security Council and the international community to play their role in resolving the Kashmir dispute in accordance with their relevant resolutions and the aspirations of the Kashmiri people.
