BAGH, India (Kashmir English): An important statement has emerged from PML-N candidate Mushtaq Ahmed Minhas following his defeat to PPP candidate Sardar Zia-ul-Qamar in LA-15 Bagh-Central.
PML-N leader Raja Mushtaq Ahmed Minhas sent a message to all his workers stating that nearly 600 fake ballot papers were found from the boxes, which, he added, the returning officer and polling officers have admitted.
He said that he has submitted two separate applications; there were 10 polling stations with 3900 votes where polling did not take place.
Mushtaq Minhas said he has also submitted an application for re-counting as he alleged that his opponent used nearly 5000 fake ballot papers. He said fake ballots should be removed during the re-counting.
The PML-N leader said there were 6 such polling stations where the turnout was only 5%.
Minhas demand re-polling and re-counting from the Chief Election Commissioner as early as possible.
Bagh constituency
It should be remembered that the seat of former government minister Mushtaq Ahmed Minhas was important for PML-N because he was being considered a candidate for Prime Minister but he faced defeat in the constituency and Zia-ul-Qamar emerged victorious.
