One-day holiday, cash reward announced for Police employees donating blood

LAHORE (Kashmir English): The Punjab Safe Cities Authority launched a month-long blood donation registration drive throughout Punjab to provide an opportunity to employees and the public to donate blood.

Under the blood donation registration drive being led by PSCA through a virtual blood bank by using the 15 help line service, the authority has created a facility for citizens to call them with respect to an acute requirement of blood and have their requirement met through willing donors.

The citizens are also encouraged to become willing blood donors, an official statement said, adding that police employees who do not hesitate to donate blood would be awarded certificates of appreciation, RS 1000 cash bonus, and leave for a day.

The Punjab Safe Cities Authority, in parallel, also awarded community certificates to the donors who are also citizens, whereas through this endeavor every cop would come forward to join as volunteers for blood donation.

PSCA also asked all cops to voluntarily donate blood and join its registered volunteers, whereas the department has decided to host blood donation awareness drives in colleges and universities.

The authority also stated that to efficiently liaise with the registered donors with the patients, each district of the Province would be allocated an ambassador for their virtual blood bank, and already citizens who were searching for blood for different cases contacted the virtual blood bank through the 15 Helpline in over 72,000 cases.
