RIYADH (Kashmir English): Saudi Arabia’s newly established airline, Riyadh Air, has announced a substantial expansion of its routes within Pakistan, launching daily flights to Islamabad on August 14 and to Lahore on August 18, connecting to Saudi Arabia’s capital.
The new destinations are the second country pair after flights to and from another Middle Eastern hub were launched. Riyadh Air said that tickets are now available for both the Islamabad-Riyadh and Lahore-Riyadh routes of the newly inaugurated airline.
“This move marks yet another step in forging stronger aviation links between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia,” said airline representatives.
At the commencement of operations, it will be offering seven weekly flights each day between the two cities of Islamabad and Riyadh. Three weekly flight operations will be taking place from Lahore to the capital of Saudi Arabia.
According to information released by the airline,, both the destinations will be catered to using Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner aircraft which feature, four classes of travel: including the airline’s premium cabin – ‘Business Elite’, as well as ‘Business’, ‘Premium Economy’, and ‘Economy’ classes which, ” boast a cutting edge in-flight experience, equipped with the latest in modern cabin interiors, in-flight entertainment, as well as high speed connectivity and unparalleled passenger comfort”.
It also added that, “The introduction of these new Saudi-Arabian cities is key in expanding Riyadh Air’s global network by providing convenient connections via its Riyadh hub from Islamabad and Lahore for travelers looking to access destinations across Europe, the Middle East, and beyond”.
It is hoped to become very useful for those wishing to explore trade ties, take religious journeys and vacations, or visit families in the country.
It further emphasized that, “These services aim at strengthening the aviation link between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia, which is crucial for fostering trade, tourism, as well as investment and facilitating employment for a considerable number of overseas Pakistanis who frequently travel between the two nations.
