MAKKAH (Kashmir English): Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif arrived at Qasr Al-Safa in Makkah, where Saudi Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud received him.

A bilateral meeting between the two leaders subsequently began, with discussions expected to focus on matters of mutual interest and strengthening the longstanding Pakistan-Saudi Arabia relationship.

Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Muhammad Ishaq Dar, Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defence Forces Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, and Defence Minister Khawaja Muhammad Asif are also accompanying Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif during the meeting.

The high-level engagement comes as the two countries continue to strengthen bilateral cooperation and deepen their strategic partnership.

Earlier, Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif, Chief of Defense Forces Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, and a high-level Pakistani delegation performed Umrah in Makkah.

Before performing Umrah, the Prime Minister, Field Marshal Asim Munir, and other members of the delegation also had the privilege of visiting the Kaaba Sharif, where they prayed and spent spiritual moments.

After performing Umrah, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, Field Marshal Asim Munir, Defense Minister Khawaja Muhammad Asif, Federal Minister Attaullah Tarar, Special Assistant Tariq Fatemi, and other members of the delegation offered special prayers for the progress and prosperity of Pakistan.

This visit is also being considered important in the context of the close brotherly relations between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia.

PM Shehbaz arrives in Saudi Arabia on three-day official visit

Earlier, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, along with a high-level delegation, has arrived in Saudi Arabia on a three-day official visit at the invitation of Saudi Crown Prince and Prime Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Salman, the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) said on Thursday.

Chief of Army Staff (COAS) and Chief of Defense Forces (CDF) Field Marshal Asim Munir, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar, Federal Ministers Khawaja Asif, Attaullah Tarar, and Special Assistant Tariq Fatemi are also accompanying the PM on his visit.

Upon arrival in Jeddah, the Prime Minister and the Pakistani delegation were warmly welcomed by Deputy Governor of Makkah Prince Saud bin Mashal bin Abdulaziz.

Saudi Minister of Agriculture, Water and Environment, Engineer Abdul Rahman bin Abdul Mohsen Al Fadhli, Pakistani Ambassador to Saudi Arabia Ahmed Farooq, and senior diplomatic officials were also present.
