MUZAFFARABAD (Kashmir English): Normalcy has been maintained in Muzaffarabad after citizens and traders rejected the strike call issued by the banned Joint Awami Action Committee (JAAC).
All major and small business centers across the city have reopened, while commercial activities are continuing as usual. Public transport has also resumed, bringing routine life back to the city.
The rejection of the strike call has allowed business and commercial activities to continue without disruption, while markets and major thoroughfares have returned to their normal hustle and bustle.
Citizens welcomed the restoration of business activities and public transport, saying the continuation of normal life was essential for the local economy and daily affairs.
The resumption of commercial activities and transport has further reflected the public’s preference for maintaining peace, normalcy and economic activity in the city.
Earlier, the people of Azad Jammu and Kashmir, especially in the Neelum Valley, had completely rejected the negative and protest narrative being run in collaboration with the banned Joint Awami Action Committee (JAAC) and Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI).
All markets, commercial centers, hotels and tourist spots in the Neelum Valley are open as usual, and business activities are continuing without any disruption.
Local political and social circles say that Tehreek-e-Insaf and the banned Joint Public Action Committee are actually two sides of the same coin, which are advancing the same anarchic agenda to create political interests and instability in the state. Despite the strike and protest calls given by the banned committee, the people have continued their employment and commercial activities, preferring peace and law and order.
