DG ISPRs press conference
According to DG ISPR, Indian forces carried out attacks at six separate locations, targeting civilian areas and places of worship under the cover of darkness. As a result, 26 civilians lost their lives and 46 others were injured.
DG ISPR Gen Sharif told a local TV channel that six places were hit, including mosques, and reported deaths and injuries.
Among the tragic incidents was a missile strike on the Masjid, where 13 people were martyred, including two young girls aged two and three, seven women, and four men.
In Muzaffarabad, a strike near another mosque, Masjid Bilal, claimed the lives of three civilians, including two young girls and a boy. In Kotli’s Masjid Abbas, a 16-year-old girl and an 18-year-old boy were killed, along with injuries to a mother and daughter.
A mosque in Muridke was also struck, resulting in three male martyrs and one injured. In Sialkot, while there was material loss, no casualties were reported.
From midnight until the time of the press conference, five more civilians, including a five-year-old child, were martyred in continued firing.
DG ISPR highlighted that targeting mosques and worship sites reveals the extremist ideology growing under the Modi government, one that openly endangers minorities and violates international norms.
