HONG KONG (Kashmir English): Pakistan’s young squash player Umair Arif performed brilliantly and won the Hong Kong Junior Squash Open Under-17 title.
In the final, Umair Arif defeated England’s Luke McBride 3-2 after a tough match to win the trophy.
In the deciding match between the two players, Umair Arif made a great comeback after losing the opening game 4-11, winning the next two games 11-6 and 11-5.
The English player tied the match by winning the fourth game 11-9, however, Umair Arif won the decisive fifth game 11-4 to win the title.
Umair Arif has previously represented Pakistan in the World Junior and Asian Junior Squash Championships.
The young player is also a fellow of the Bilkis and Abdul Razzaq Dawood Foundation, where he is supported to hone his sporting skills further.
