MUZAFFARABAD (Kashmir English): Transporters in Muzaffarabad have announced to fight a legal battle against illegal private bus stands established across Azad Kashmir’s capital Muzaffarabad.
As per the details, the transporters have warned of wheel jam strikes and demonstrations if the district administration fails to implement the decision given by the Secretary Transport Authority regarding illegal bus stands.
The establishment of the illegal base stands on Bella Noor Shah has caused severe difficulties for traders, transporters, and common people.
The Muzaffarabad administration has set up three bus stands across the city to facilitate citizens traveling nationwide, but many illegal stands have been set up at multiple points, which blocks roads for hours.
While talking to Kashmir Digital, renowned transporter Safeer Mughal said “We pay thousands of rupees to the Municipal Corporation every month and millions of rupees to the Tax Department every year for each vehicle. But the facilities remain zero.”
Moreover, he added that those who set up roadside bus stands do not pay taxes or any other money to the Municipal Corporation.
“If relevant departments do not eliminate the illegal base stands within ten days, the transporters are ready to come on the streets and will lock their vehicles until the illegal base stands are eliminated,” he warned.
