MUZAFFARABAD (Kashmir English): The Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) Food Authority Muzaffarabad, has launched a major operation against unregistered food products.
A distributor’s truck loaded with unregistered juice was seized at Tariqabad, and the warehouse was sealed.
The truck was seized for not having a Food Authority permit as per the Food Authority Act 2017 and laboratory reports.
District Food Controller Muzaffarabad has said that the Food Authority is conducting an ongoing crackdown against unregistered and substandard food products.
The food safety officer encouraged the citizens to report suspicious and unregistered food items to the Food Authority’s helpline number 1280.
“Food companies in Azad Kashmir must be licensed by the Food Authority and register their products to ensure quality and safety,” he said.
The official added that action will be taken against those violating the Food Authority Act 2017 and the Pure Food Regulation 2019.
