MUZAFFARABAD (Kashmir English): A “Kashmir Bane Ga Pakistan” rally was organised in Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) capital Muzaffarabad on the occasion of the 79th anniversary of Pakistan’s Independence Day.
The rally was organised from Ghari Pan Chowk to Burhan Wani Shaheed Chowk under the auspices of the All Parties Hurriyat Conference, Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Cell and Pasban-e-Hurriyat.
A large number of citizens, including Kashmiri refugees, participated, holding national flags of Pakistan and Kashmir, banners and placards in their hands.
Participants raised slogans of “Pakistan Zindabad” and “Kashmir Bane Ga Pakistan”, while national songs were played during the gathering. A cake was cut during the event to mark Pakistan’s Independence Day, while green balloons were also released into the air.
The participants expressed solidarity with Pakistan and reaffirmed their association with the country on the occasion of Independence Day.
Secretary Liberation Cell Chaudhry Abdul Rehman, Secretary General All Parties Hurriyat Conference Pervaiz Ahmed Advocate, Director Liberation Cell Raja Muhammad Sajjad Khan, Director National Awareness Wing Sardar Sajid Mahmood and Hurriyat leaders Mushtaqul Islam, Uzair Ghazali, Sheikh Abdul Majid, Ashfaq Ahmed and Zahid Ashraf participated in the rally along with a large number of citizens.
Addressing the rally, speakers said Independence Day provides an opportunity to remember the sacrifices of previous generations and renew the commitment to Pakistan’s security, sovereignty and development.
They also referred to the agreement signed by Pakistan, Saudi Arabia and Türkiye in Makkah, saying it reflected a commitment to mutual unity, cooperation and common security. They stressed the need for greater cooperation and solidarity among Muslim countries.
The speakers said Pakistan is playing an important role in the Muslim world as a strong, peaceful and sovereign country. They expressed the view that the Kashmiri people remain proud of their association with Pakistan and reaffirmed support for the Kashmiri people’s right to self-determination.
The gathering concluded with prayers and good wishes for Pakistan’s security and prosperity and the freedom of Kashmir.
