SINGAPORE (Kashmir English): Pakistan’s Ahmed Zafar Hayat won the overall title at the Singapore Open Senior Amateur Golf Championship 2026, while Brigadier (Retd) Umar Aijaz further highlighted Pakistan’s success in the event by securing third place.
In the 35th Senior Amateur Championship held in Singapore, Ahmed Zafar Hayat claimed the top spot with a total score of 223 across three rounds, carding scores of 73, 74, and 76, respectively.
According to records from Singapore’s Seletar Country Club, the event took place from September 22 to 25, encompassing both the 35th Singapore Open Senior Amateur Championship and the 11th Singapore National Senior Amateur Championship.
Brigadier (Retd) Umar Aijaz secured third place with a total score of 229 over three rounds, recording scores of 77, 80, and 72.
A third Pakistani player, Muhammad Abdullah Mannan, posted a total score of 250 across three rounds, with individual round scores of 82, 86, and 82.
According to reports, the Pakistani senior amateur golfers arrived in Singapore on September 20 to participate in the championship.
With Ahmed Zafar Hayat’s overall victory and Umar Aijaz’s third-place finish, Pakistan secured two prominent positions in the competition.
The Pakistan Golf Federation has also commended the performance of the national golfers and congratulated them.
