MIRPUR (Kashmir English): Software Engineering Department of state-run Mirpur University of Science and Technology (MUST) hosted a capacity-building workshop to provide students with practical skills in modern digital tools, equipping them for global software development opportunities.
The session was led by Hassan Shahzada (Student Semester 4th Department of Software Engineering), Associate Microsoft Student Ambassador”, a spokesman of the department said.
The workshop aimed to bridge the gap between classroom learning and industry-standard tools used by software engineers worldwide.
In the first session of the day-long event, the spokesman stated, Hassan Shahzada introduced the Microsoft Learn Student Ambassador Program 2026, explaining how students could join this global initiative to enhance leadership skills, gain international exposure, and access growth opportunities.
Participants were guided through the application process, with practical tips on becoming a successful candidate for this prestigious program.
The second module focused on GitHub and the Student Developer Pack, offering hands-on training in tools often used by professional developers.

Students learned how to access premium tech tools for free, create and host portfolio websites using GitHub Pages, and apply these skills to build a professional online presence.
The workshop attracted enthusiastic participation from students across various departments. Many attendees actively engaged in the practical exercises, demonstrating keen interest in building and showcasing their projects online.
Reflecting on the session, Hassan Shahzada said, “As a student, I believe sharing knowledge is the most effective way to grow. My goal is to empower fellow students with the skills they need to excel in their careers.”
