LAHORE (Kashmir English): A severe crisis regarding domestic and commercial LPG has emerged across various cities in Punjab, including Lahore, causing significant hardship for the public.
According to reports, LPG is being sold for between 600 and 650 rupees per kilogram in different parts of Lahore, while in smaller towns and rural areas, the price has climbed as high as 700 rupees per kilogram.
The crisis has led to an acute shortage of LPG in many areas of Lahore, forcing numerous shops to close due to the lack of gas supply.
Citizens have strongly criticized the government’s continued silence, arguing that official negligence and apathy have allowed the “LPG mafia” to operate completely unchecked, exploiting consumers without restraint.
On the other hand, shopkeepers maintain that LPG marketing companies are supplying them with gas at high prices, leaving them with no choice but to sell it at elevated rates.
The public has urged the relevant authorities to take immediate notice of the situation and initiate strict action against the mafia.
