ISLAMABAD (Kashmir English): Federal Minister for Energy Awais Khan Leghari on Thursday ordered the finalisation of the Consumer Perception Survey to assess consumer satisfaction with the services of DISCOs, the Power Division said in a press release.

Chairing a meeting of the Consumer Perception Survey, the federal minister directed all power distribution companies (DISCOs) to finalise the methodology, criteria and schedule for the survey.

He further instructed that the survey’s approval be completed at the earliest so that it can be launched without further delay.

As per the statement, the survey will be mandatory every six months, with the annual schedule required to include at least one survey during the summer season.

Addressing the meeting, the minister said that the survey criteria be aligned with parameters set by the National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) for meaningful weight of consumer feedback.

“The survey would help assess consumer satisfaction with the performance and services of DISCOs, while its findings would serve as an input for future policymaking,” he was quoted as saying.

Leghari said this was not merely an administrative formality but a “tangible expression of the government’s commitment to consumer welfare and service, aimed at improving the quality of services delivered to the public.”

He urged consumers to provide honest feedback during the survey, saying their input would help improve institutional performance.

The minister further stated that it will enable the government and relevant authorities to make more informed, transparent, and sound decisions, which will ultimately strengthen consumer confidence and satisfaction in the power sector.
