Key briefing held on Balochistan’s security and development strategy

QUETTA (Kashmir English): Important briefings on Balochistan’s socio-economic development, minerals and mining sector, and law and order situation were held at the Chief Minister’s Secretariat, where the provincial government’s strategies and ongoing initiatives were reviewed in detail.

According to the briefing by the Balochistan Planning and Development Department, participants were apprised of key government strategies for the socio-economic sectors.

Measures related to governance, improved service delivery, effective utilization of development funds and ensuring that the benefits of public projects reach citizens were discussed.

The Ministry of Minerals and Resources briefed the participants on Balochistan’s vast potential in the minerals and mining sector, as well as progress on ongoing projects.

Various measures aimed at developing the sector and generating economic benefits for the people of the province were also highlighted.

A separate briefing by the Ministry of Home and Tribal Affairs focused on measures to improve the law and order situation. Officials provided updates on the Provincial Action Plan, police reforms and the integration of the Levies Force into the police.

The briefing also covered progress on the Safe City project, relevant legislation and efforts to strengthen coordination among law enforcement agencies.

Following the ministerial briefings, a detailed question-and-answer session was held with the Chief Minister of Balochistan. The Chief Minister responded to questions from participants and shared his position on issues related to various sectors of the province.
