SRINAGAR (Kashmir English): The All Parties Hurriyat Conference (APHC) has condemned the ongoing killing spree by Indian troops coupled with massive crackdown, saying that the people of Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK) have long borne the weight of a brutal conflict imposed upon them by the unresolved Kashmir dispute.
APHC spokesman Advocate Abdul Rashid Minhas in a statement said that among the most horrifying manifestations of this unresolved crisis are the recurring extrajudicial killings carried out by Indian forces with impunity.
“These killings, often staged as fake encounters, have claimed countless innocent lives, shattering families and leaving a trail of agony across the region,” he said.
He said most recently, two more Kashmiri youth were martyred in Bandipora and Kupwara districts, adding to the grim tally of the Indian state terrorism.
Systematic targeting of Kashmiris
Since January 1989, the spokesman added, an estimated 96,423 people have been martyred by Indian troops, a chilling reminder of the systematic targeting of Kashmiris, especially the youth, by the Modi regime.
Empowered by draconian laws that grant them impunity, Indian forces continue to unleash terror in the name of security, using extrajudicial killings as a tool to crush the spirit of resistance.
The spokesman, however, made it clear that despite the unimaginable suffering and decades of bloodshed, the people of Kashmir have refused to surrender their demand for justice and self-determination.
“Their resilience remains unbroken, even as India attempts to silence them through brute force.”
