MUZAFFARABAD (Kashmir English): The Parliamentary Committee on Kashmir Affairs on Wednesday urged the concerned authorities to conduct a feasibility study for airports in the three divisions of Azad Kashmir.
The directions were taken during the 11th meeting of the Kashmir Committee, chaired by the Federal Minister and Chairman of the Parliamentary Committee on Kashmir Affairs, Rana Qasim Noon.
During the meeting, the committee reviewed the implementation of decisions taken in the 10th session.
The meeting agreed to take immediate steps to address the problems of Kashmiri refugees residing in Pakistan.
Chief Secretary AJK Khushal Khan briefed the committee on the overall administrative, political, and economic situation in Azad Jammu and Kashmir.
The committee stressed the need to effectively highlight the Kashmir issue at national and international forums.
The meeting emphasized political and economic stability in Azad Kashmir, improving the standard of living of the people, improving governance, building trust between the government and the people, and working on development projects in view of public needs.
The session was attended by Federal Minister Dr. Tariq Fazal Chaudhry, Syed Javed Ali (via video link), and parliamentary members Malik Abrar, Asad Alam Niazi, and Fatehullah.
Former President AJK Sardar Masood Khan, Chief Secretary AJK Khushal Khan, Joint Secretary Ministry of Kashmir Affairs Ali Akbar, DG Foreign Affairs Bilal Chaudhry, Member PTA Dr. Khakwani, and Deputy DG Airports Sadiq-ur-Rehman, along with other departmental heads and stakeholders, were also present.
