ISLAMABAD (Kashmir English): The government of Pakistan has decided to completely redesign the passport, featuring modern visuals and updated security features.
According to the details, the Directorate General of Immigration & Passports has obtained formal permission from the Ministry of Interior to redesign the passport and go ahead with the project.
The new design will now list the name of the citizen’s mother along with the father. It will also highlight Pakistan’s culture and history through images of landmarks from Punjab, Sindh, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and Balochistan.
Furthermore, the passport will include improved security elements, which will help stop forgery, duplication, and illegal use. Authorities say these updates will also meet modern international travel standards and enhance document safety.
Officials say that this change aims to promote the country’s identity globally and protect against document misuse. According to sources, printing of the new passports will start soon, and the redesign will be rolled out gradually as citizens renew their documents.
