MUZAFFARABAD (Kashmir English): Azad Kashmir Prime Minister Iftikhar Gilani has announced that internet services across the state will be fully restored in phases within the next two days.
According to the prime minister, the first phase of restoration has been completed, while the second phase will cover the majority of remaining areas. Internet services in Bhimber and Mirpur districts will also be fully restored.
DSL services in Muzaffarabad will be restored during the second phase, he said, adding that the remaining areas will subsequently be brought back online.
Gilani clarified that his previous statement on internet restoration had not been presented in its proper context, which led to altered expectations among the public. He said his earlier remarks were partial and specifically included educational institutions.
The prime minister said he had never stated that internet services would be fully restored across the entirety of Azad Kashmir at that time.
He also said the measures under the 100-day reform plan would be implemented in consultation with the public and all relevant stakeholders.
Gilani further praised Health Minister Dr Mustafa Bashir Abbasi for his active role in the health sector and urged the people of Azad Kashmir to give the government some time to deliver on its commitments.
“We will work to exceed the expectations of the people of Azad Kashmir,” he said.
