DUBAI (Kashmir English): The International Cricket Council (ICC) has officially unveiled the 12 host venues for the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2027, confirming that the tournament will be jointly hosted by South Africa, Zimbabwe and Namibia.
The 50-over showpiece will return to African soil for the first time in 24 years, having last been staged in the region in 2003.
The 2027 edition will feature 14 teams and will be played under a new three-stage competition format, with matches spread across eight venues in South Africa, three in Zimbabwe and one in Namibia.
South Africa will host matches at Wanderers Stadium (Johannesburg), SuperSport Park (Centurion), Newlands Cricket Ground (Cape Town), Kingsmead Cricket Ground (Durban), St George’s Park (Gqeberha), Mangaung Oval (Bloemfontein), Boland Park (Paarl), and Buffalo Park (East London).
Zimbabwe’s selected venues are Harare Sports Club (Harare), Queens Sports Club (Bulawayo), and the Fale Mosi-oa-Tunya International Cricket Stadium (Victoria Falls). Namibia will stage matches at the Namibia Cricket Ground in Windhoek, marking the country’s first appearance as a Cricket World Cup host.
The announcement marks a major milestone in preparations for the tournament, with the ICC aiming to showcase cricket’s growth across Africa through one of the sport’s biggest global events.
