Hasan Nawaz, Saim Ayub rise in latest ICC T20 rankings

DUBAI (Kashmir English): The International Cricket Council (ICC) has released new T20 rankings, with Pakistan’s Hasan Nawaz and Saim Ayub making significant gains.

Abrar Ahmed has lost the top spot in the bowlers’ rankings. In the T20 batters’ rankings, Pakistan’s new captain, Sahibzada Farhan, remains in third place with 818 points, while India’s Ishan Kishan and Abhishek Sharma hold the first and second positions, respectively.

Saim Ayub has climbed one spot to reach 38th place with 566 points. Former Pakistan captain Babar Azam has dropped four places to 45th with 544 points, while former T20 captain Salman Ali Agha has slipped three places to 48th.

Hasan Nawaz delivered a stellar performance, leaping 62 places to reach the 48th spot with 536 points. He played an innings of 96 runs against India in the 2026 Asian Games final, a knock that included seven sixes.

Pakistan’s left-handed batter Fakhar Zaman has dropped 10 places to 82nd position with 471 points.

In the T20 bowlers’ rankings, Pakistan’s spinner Abrar Ahmed has moved from the top spot to second place with 718 points, while Afghanistan’s Rashid Khan has reclaimed the number one position. Pakistan’s Mohammad Nawaz has dropped four places to 12th with 645 points, while Salman Mirza has slipped seven spots to 23rd with 623 points.

Shaheen Shah Afridi has also fallen three places to 36th with 590 points. Sufiyan Muqeem remains at 50th with 546 points, whereas Saim Ayub has climbed eight spots to reach 62nd place.

Usman Tariq has dropped seven places to 63rd, and Shadab Khan has slipped two spots to 77th.

The impact of player performances during the Asian Games and the first T20 match of the series between India and the West Indies is evident in the new ICC rankings.
