ISLAMABAD (Kashmir English): The National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) has issued new guidelines for citizens applying for their first National Identity Card after turning 18.

According to NADRA, applicants whose parents or siblings are not registered with the authority or are unavailable must complete the necessary documentation and verification processes before submitting their application.

NADRA states that applicants must provide a verified computerized birth certificate, a citizenship certificate, or a naturalization certificate.

Applicants must also bring along two witnesses aged 18 or older who hold valid identity cards and whose biometrics can be verified.

NADRA prefers relatives as witnesses over others. If such relatives are unavailable, a resident of the same area holding a valid identity card or NICOP and who knows the applicant personally may serve as a witness.

Applicants are also required to submit an ‘Affidavit B’ in accordance with the prescribed procedure, and the application form must be attested by an authorized person under Regulation 9.
