LAHORE (Kashmir English): Pakistan women’s cricket team fast bowler Kainat Imtiaz has announced her retirement from international cricket.

According to the Pakistan Cricket Board, Kainat Imtiaz played 19 One Day Internationals (ODIs) and 21 T20 Internationals for Pakistan. She was part of the national team for several major international tournaments and represented the country.

Kainat Imtiaz was also a member of the Pakistan women’s cricket team that won gold medals at the Asian Games in 2010 and 2014. She played her last ODI against Australia in January 2023, while her final T20 match was against Thailand in October 2022.

Even while away from international cricket, Kainat Imtiaz maintained her connection to the sport by working in commentary; she has now embarked on a new journey as a women’s match referee.
