DUBAI(Kashmir English): Demand for tickets to the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2027 has surged, with applications submitted for more than 1.1 million tickets within days of the ticket ballot opening.
According to the ICC, more than 320,000 fans had registered for the ticket ballot since registration opened on October 1, 2026. The tournament will be hosted by South Africa, Zimbabwe and Namibia.
The highly anticipated India-Pakistan match has attracted the highest demand so far, with more than 110,000 ticket applications submitted. The South Africa-India match has received over 92,000 applications, while more than 86,000 applications have been submitted for India’s match against Australia.
Around 78,000 applications have been received for the pre-seeded Super 7 match between India (A1) and Pakistan (A3), scheduled for November 7. Meanwhile, approximately 69,000 applications have been submitted for the World Cup final on November 21.
ICC Chief Executive Sanjog Gupta said the submission of applications for more than one million tickets in just over 48 hours demonstrated the global appeal of the World Cup.
Qondisa Ngwenya, Chief Executive of the 2027 World Cup Local Organising Committee, said the strong demand reflected the interest of cricket fans worldwide and added that the three host countries were ready to welcome supporters from around the globe.
Registration for the ticket ballot will remain open until 11:59 pm CAT on November 21. Participation is free, and fans are not required to make any payment during the registration stage.
The ballot is not conducted on a first-come, first-served basis. Fans can submit one application per match and may apply for multiple matches separately. If applications exceed the available seating for a particular match, successful applicants will be selected through a lottery.
Fans selected in the ballot will receive information about the ticket purchasing process by email. Notifications will also be sent to unsuccessful applicants.
