ISLAMABAD (Kashmir English): The growing wave of AI-generated videos and satirical content targeting Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has put the party’s social media machinery under pressure, as the digital tactics long used to shape political narratives are increasingly being turned against it.
PTI and its supporters have been quick to question the authenticity of several videos circulating on social media, describing some of the material as fabricated and misleading.
The reaction has created an ironic twist in Pakistan’s increasingly intense digital political battle. PTI frequently uses viral videos, edited clips and online campaigns to challenge its political opponents and shape public narratives.
Now, with AI tools making it easier for users to produce and circulate convincing political content, PTI is finding itself on the receiving end of the same rapidly evolving digital environment.
The latest wave has effectively brought the digital battle back to PTI, leaving the party to deal with a challenge on a social media front where it has traditionally enjoyed a strong presence.
