LAHORE (Kashmir English): Hakeem Babar, who gained attention on social media after marrying a younger woman, has alleged that he was poisoned after being served juice during a visit to a house in his native village in Sialkot district.

According to Babar, he was invited by individuals, identified as Safdar alias Siku from Kotli Khokhran, and was allegedly given juice containing a poisonous substance.

He claimed that his health deteriorated shortly after consuming the drink and that his condition became critical. Babar alleged that the incident was a deliberate attempt to harm him.

Hakeem has appealed to Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz and other authorities to order an immediate and transparent investigation into the incident. He stated that he has a family and young children and expressed concern for his safety.

He further demanded that anyone found responsible be prosecuted under the law and said that if any harm comes to him or his family, the individuals he has named should be held accountable.

Earlier, the wedding of 60-year-old Hakim Babar, owner of Al Noor Dawakhana in Rawalpindi, to a young woman in Rawalpindi went viral after videos of the ceremony were shared across social media platforms.

In a video shared on social media, Hakeem Babar can be seen dressing his bride with rose flower garlands. The video is being widely shared on X by various accounts, with users expressing a range of views.

In another tweet, a user quoted Hakeem Babar as saying that the true essence of marriage lies in the sincerity of intention and the Shariah status of the relationship, not the age difference.

In the footage, the bride appears pleased with the marriage, while family members can also be seen celebrating the newlywed couple.
