NASHVILLE (Kashmir English): A Grammy-winning producer, Tay Keith, who was behind smash singles including Travis Scott’s Sicko Mode and Drake’s Nonstop, was discovered dead on Thursday at his apartment in Nashville.
Local law enforcement has since confirmed the passing of Keith; no cause of death was revealed. “No foul play is suspected in the death of Brytavious Chambers, 29, also known as Grammy-nominated record producer Tay Keith.
He was found dead in his Martin St. Apt. This afternoon, officers are performing a welfare check. His death is unclassified pending autopsy results,” read a report from Nashville police.
The hip-hop producer had also collaborated with artists such as Eminem, Sexyy Red, and Lil Baby, and helped co-produce one of the bonus tracks from Beyoncé’s 2019 live album Homecoming.
Keith began his career by uploading his music to YouTube and hip-hop websites when he was a teen. He was only 14 years old when he was introduced to rapper BlocBoy JB.
The two began working together on music, and Keith achieved mainstream success through his collaboration on BlocBoy JB’s 2018 song Rover. It was 2018 when Keith broke into superstardom with the release of Travis Scott’s hit track Sicko Mode.
Nominations for the Grammy
He was nominated for a Grammy Award in 2019 for Sicko Mode and again in 2024 for Drake and 21 Savage’s Rich Flex.
This year, Tay Keith took home Producer of the Year for his work on First Person Shooter by Drake featuring J. Cole; Meltdown by Travis Scott featuring Drake; SkeeYee by Sexyy Red; and Circo Loco by Drake and 21 Savage at BMI’s R&B/Hip-Hop Awards – his third such win. He also earned the award for BMI’s R&B/Hip-Hop Songwriter of the Year back in 2018.
