CALIFORNIA (Kashmir English): Google is growing the scope of its AI-enhanced image editor, Nano Banana, by adding it to a number of its flagship services, such as Google Search, NotebookLM, and Photos.

The tool went viral last month due to its innovative editing capabilities, and Google is now cashing in on that popularity by expanding it to more apps and services.

NotebookLM Integration

The biggest update is in NotebookLM, where Nano Banana is enhancing the platform’s Video Overviews feature.

This feature generates animated explainer videos from user documents automatically. With the upgrade, users can use six new visual styles, including watercolor and anime, and generate contextual illustrations drawn from source material.

Google is also launching “Briefs,” a new format for short AI-generated micro-videos. These updates start rolling out to Pro users this week and will hit all users in the weeks to come.

New Features for Search

Nano Banana is also being included in the Google Search app. It is now possible for users to edit or stylize photos from within the search interface by typing prompts in a chat.

Google indicates that the feature lets users snap photos with the Lens tool and make creative changes with AI. This feature is live today in English for users in the US, with more languages and regions to follow.

Photos Integration

While details for the moment are scarce, Google acknowledged that Nano Banana will also be integrated into the Photos app in the weeks to come. Though the company hasn’t detailed specific features yet, the tool will most likely be utilized to edit or improve images stored.
