KARACHI (Kashmir English): All Sindh Private Schools and Colleges Association asks Sindh govt to review new extended school hours schedule, saying it is impossible to implement in the prevailing situation.
All Sindh Private Schools and Colleges Association chairman Haider Ali has asked Sindh Minister for School Education Syed Sardar Ali Shah to revisit the new extended hours school schedule and implement timings keeping the practical realities on the ground.
He said long school hours are challenging to be accommodated due to soaring temperatures, lunch and prayer breaks, timings of madaris, family responsibilities on older students at home, transportation hours to school for students and teachers, afternoon and second shifts of schools, etc.
According to Haider Ali, developed countries run their schools for more hours with appropriate school facilities and arrangements.
This is something which is not very commonly found here.
Haider Ali further commented that current revised timings are making things extremely difficult for parents, teachers and school owners. He stated the timing for students in government as well as private schools should be equal.
According to Haider Ali and other senior functionaries of the Association, the current 2018-19 session school timing sheet issued by the government for schools across Sindh is extremely impractical to execute and also not producing the desired outcome.
Association thus humbly demands of the concerned Govt.
To analyze all those factors and issue back a revised schedule of school timings with local context as soon as possible. He, however, lauds the recent decisions of the Sindh govt & the effort by the Education Minister on education issues, which sets a precedent for the entire country as Sardar Ali Shah truly gets a grip of the issues, both social and practical.
