MIRPUR (Kashmir English): In a significant breakthrough, the Mangla Police in Azad Jammu and Kashmir(AJK) have arrested a man wanted in a fake cheque case registered in Islamabad. The accused, identified as Chaudhry Sanwal Mahmood, son of Chaudhry Fazal Mahmood, hails from Hasa Hajjiwala, Tehsil and District Gujrat.

According to the details, a case had been filed against the accused at the Sihala Police Station in Islamabad under Section 489-F of the Pakistan Penal Code. He was alleged to have issued a fake cheque worth Rs1.9 million to the complainant. The bank returned an unsuccessful funds transfer from the cheque, prompting the legal case proceedings.

After investigating the incident the Islamabad Police discovered the accused fled to become an absconder. The Station House Officer (SHO) of Mangla Police Station, Khalid Bashir, made a targeted arrest possible after receiving a tip that led to the capture of the wanted individual in the Mangla region.

Law enforcement authorities performed further questioning after detaining the suspect to reveal aspects of the cheque fraud crime along with the names of co-conspirators who joined the offence. All parties involved in financial crimes must face legal consequences according to authorities who want such perpetrators to receive justice.

The Mangla Police finished their legal procedures and then transferred the accused person to Sub-Inspector Safdar at Sihala Police Station in Islamabad. The transfer forward proceeded as a necessary judicial step because it enabled investigators to continue their criminal investigation.

SHO Khalid Bashir stated that the law applies equally to everyone and that the police force will keep fighting cheque fraud alongside other financial offences.

He declared that his main focus remains to ensure appropriate consequences for all people practising deceitful actions. This arrest demonstrates our determination to protect justice while communicating that unlawful activities in this category will receive due punishment.

The police arrest has received praise for their diligent work, as multiple law enforcement agencies showed successful inter-regional operational coordination.
