RAWALAKOT (Kashmir English): Deputy Commissioner Poonch Umar Farooq has said that positive journalism and the dedication of journalists to their profession is very welcome in Rawalakot.
He expressed these views while talking to journalists during his visit to Ghazi-a-Millat Press Club Rawalakot.
“Journalists deserve applause for their efforts to highlight and resolve various issues. They are playing a role in resolving problems and the administration will continue its best efforts to eliminate the problems faced by journalists here.”
Deputy Commissioner Poonch Umar Farooq said that the land issue for the Journalist Colony will be resolved soon and at the same time, efforts will continue to resolve other problems faced by journalists.
Addressing the journalists, he urged them to continue to promote positive journalism.
Rawalakot Press Club
He said the way Rawalakot Press Club and its affiliated journalists are serving with limited resources is undoubtedly worthy of congratulations.
Speaking on the occasion, President Press Club Shafqat Zia thanked the Deputy Commissioner Poonch for his special visit to the Press Club and pointed out other issues including the Journalist Colony and demanded that a special role be played by the Deputy Commissioner Poonch and the district administration in this regard.
He said that journalists will play the role of a strong pillar of state only when steps are taken to resolve the problems and difficulties faced by them.
On this occasion, other office bearers and members of Ghazi-a-Millat Press Club, including Vice President Aamir Javed, General Secretary Omar Khayyam, Secretary Information Akhlaq Khan, Secretary Finance Farooq Khan, former presidents Abid Siddique, Rashid Nazir, Sardar Razaq Khan, Sardar Riaz Shahid, President of Central Union of Journalists Poonch Syed Masood Gardezi, Sardar Zafar Nazir, female journalist Tasneem Shaukat, Khurram Zulfiqar and others were also present.
