ISLAMABAD (Kashmir English): If your Android device looks working slower than usual, it doesn’t require a hardware upgrade, rather, a cache clean-up can quickly boost its speed and responsiveness.
While Google’s Android 16 release in mid-2025 unveiled new performance optimizations, accumulated data can still slow down even the newest software.
Cached files are intended to speed up app loading, but they can become corrupted or outdated over time. While a restart is helpful, manually clearing the cache is a more precise way to reclaim storage and improve responsiveness.
How to clear app cache on android?
The steps may vary slightly depending on the device manufacturer, but the general process remains almost the same.
Open Settings and select Apps (or see all apps)
Choose the specific app that is performing poorly or taking up excessive space
Tap storage & cache
Select clear cache
You must avoid selecting “Clear storage” or “Clear data” unless you want to delete your login information and app settings.
Some devices also offer a “Free up space” suggestion via the Google Files app.
Open files, tap the three-line menu, select Clean, and review recommendations like unused apps or large files.
