MUZAFFARABAD (Kashmir English): Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari’s public rally in Muzaffarabad has been rescheduled from July 24 to July 30 ahead of the 2026 polls in Azad Jammu and Kashmir.
In a video message, AJK Legislative Assembly Speaker Chaudhry Latif Akbar said the rally in Muzaffarabad will now be held at the University Ground, Muzaffarabad, at 2 pm on July 30.
Earlier, the rally was planned on July 24 before the general election, which was originally planned for July 27 across the region. However, the election commissioner has now announced that the polls will be held in three phases.
The election commissioner said that polls will be held in 13 constituencies of Mirpur division on July 27, nine constituencies of Muzaffarabad division and all 12 refugee constituencies on August 2, and 11 constituencies of Poonch division on August 10.
Following this development, the PPP rally in Muzaffarabad will now be held on July 30 at University College Ground.
Latif Akbar, in a video message, described the gathering as the PPP’s final public rally before the Azad Kashmir general elections, saying Bilawal Bhutto would present the party’s policy vision for AJK during his address.
According to Latif Akbar, the PPP chairman will outline his plans for the development and future of Azad Kashmir and present a roadmap for the region.
Akbar appealed to party workers and supporters from across Muzaffarabad Division to participate in large numbers, expressing confidence that Bilawal’s address would be a significant speech ahead of the elections.
Earlier, the AJK Prime Minister’s spokesperson, Shaukat Javed Mir, said all arrangements and preparations regarding the rally are being finalized.
He said that the PPP Chairman will address the rally, and a large number of party workers and the public are expected to attend.
