ISLAMABAD (Kashmir English): Chairman of the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Bilawal Bhutto has said that the ongoing unrest in Azad Kashmir is damaging the Kashmir cause and the reputation of Pakistan.

Bilawal Bhutto said that this situation is providing an unnecessary opportunity to hostile elements, the India-Israel nexus, to take advantage of it for their own purposes.

Appealing for a peaceful end to the protests, he said that all political grievances and differences should be resolved through democratic, constitutional, and peaceful means.

Bilawal Bhutto said that the PPP has demanded that the Election Commission withdraw the election schedule issued prematurely.

Bilawal added that we are determined to achieve a political solution, and we will try to establish a Truth and Reconciliation Commission to resolve pending grievances.

Bilawal said that if all parties, including the federal government, agree, the Azad Kashmir government can review the notifications issued regarding the protesting parties, but it is determined that those who have done nothing wrong should not have to suffer the consequences of the actions of others.

On the prospects of an Iran-US agreement, Bilawal Bhutto said that the approaching signing of the ‘Islamabad Agreement’ is a historic moment, with global attention firmly focused on Pakistan.
