MUZAFFARABAD (Kashmir English): Azad Jammu and Kashmir Police sources have alleged that the leadership of the banned Joint Awami Action Committee (JAAC) bears responsibility for the chain of events that led to violence in Rawalakot and the death of Usman Sabir.
According to police sources, the Action Committee miscreants attacked security personnel, kidnapped law enforcement officials, and torched state property, followed by the attack on the Combined Military Hospital (CMH) in Rawalakot.
The sources said that it was Umar Nazir Kashmiri, Sardar Aman, and Shaukat Nawaz Mir, who set fire to the peace in the region for their nefarious political objectives and encouraged the youth to take the law into their own hands.
Regarding the death of Usman Sabir, police sources rejected allegations directed at security agencies and alleged that armed elements associated with the banned committee are trying to save themselves from the law by politicizing the dead body and spreading misleading narratives on the murder of Usman Sabir
“The truth is that the blood of the youth has been spilled by the core members of the banned Action Committee, who first used the innocent people as a shield and then targeted the people through their terrorists who were already present on the rooftops, of which there is already numerous evidence and witnesses,” sources said.
Police officials further alleged that attempts are now being made to use the incident for political purposes and to influence public opinion through what they described as misleading narratives.
