ISLAMABAD (Kashmir English): Islamabad authorities have dismissed social media reports that claimed that filtered juice from the capital city caused recent fatal incidents because they found no proof that the events were connected to drinking beverages.
The District Health Office (DHO) Islamabad, together with Capital Development Authority (CDA) and Municipal Corporation Islamabad (MCI), district administration performed a joint review, which found no connection between reported deaths and any particular food or beverage, which included juice.
The officials declared that the current results depend on preliminary medical evaluations and ongoing investigation work. They requested the public to depend on confirmed facts that health officials provide while discouraging them from sharing unverified information through social media.
The clarification comes after reports surfaced of three individuals dying within the past 72 hours in Islamabad’s G-6 sector, allegedly after consuming juice purchased from the area.
Alleged Deaths by Drinking Juice
The CDA Emergency Department received three patients from April 13 to April 16, 2026. A 37-year-old man named Ahtesham arrived at the hospital on April 13 after he developed chest pain and vomiting three hours after he drank juice.
A 22-year-old man named Ali was admitted to the hospital on April 14 in critical condition without any previous record of drinking alcohol. An unnamed 17-year-old girl was admitted on April 16 with symptoms that included vomiting and chest pain.
She passed away in the hospital. The investigation officials reported that no evidence exists to prove that juice contamination caused the deaths through toxicological tests or clinical examinations.
