MUZAFFARABAD (Kashmir English): Minister for Sports, Youth and Culture Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) Asim Sharif Butt has also resigned, bringing the number of resigning ministers to four.

Asim Sharif Butt, elected from LA-42 Valley 3, wrote in his resignation that as a minister, the situation created after the recent protest of the Joint Awami Action Committee and the illegal and unconstitutional agreement after the protest of the government team caused severe distress to the refugees residing in Pakistan.
He said that the alliance of the people of his constituency with the state government has completely ended, adding the agreement with the Action Committee is against the law.
“This agreement has been made between parties, one of which, the Action Committee, is an unregistered organization, and an agreement with it is against the law. This illegal act has attacked the rights of refugees residing in Pakistan.”
He said that he is resigning from his ministerial portfolio and does not express confidence in the current government.
It should be noted that before Asim Sharif Butt, Information Minister Pir Mazhar Saeed, Finance Minister Majid Khan, and Food Minister Akbar Ibrahim have also resigned. More resignations are expected in a few days.
