MIRPUR (Kashmir English): Today, the people of Azad Jammu and Kashmir are celebrating the 78th Youm-e-Tasees, also known as the Foundation Day, to reaffirm their commitment to their struggle for self-determination and to accede all of Kashmir to Pakistan.
Flag Hoisting Ceremonies
On the 78th Azad Jammu and Kashmir Foundation Day, there were two major flag hoisting ceremonies conducted at the Divisional Headquarters in Mirpur.
Prime Minister of Azad Kashmir Chaudhry Anwarul Haq started the Foundation Day salute ceremony by hoisting the flag of Azad Kashmir.
The national anthems of Pakistan and Azad Kashmir were played, and the ceremony was attended by top civil leadership and commanders of the Pakistani armed forces deployed in the area.
Azad Jammu and Kashmir Chief Justice Raja Saeed Akram Khan hoisted the Azad Jammu and Kashmir flag at the Supreme Court Building.
Additionally, DIG Dr. Liaquat Ali, Deputy Commissioner Yasir Riaz, Mayor Usman Ali Khalid, and SSP Khurram Iqbal hoisted the Azad Kashmir and Pakistan flags in the Municipal Corporation premises during another ceremony.
A smart police contingent presented a guard of honor to the Chief Justice, with the national anthems of Pakistan and Azad Kashmir played after a minute’s silence at 8:58 a.m.
Participants greeted each other and congratulated them on the Foundation Day, reiterating their resolve to carry on the Kashmir Freedom Movement with dedication and determination.
Prayers were said for the success of the Kashmir Freedom Movement, stability, progress, and security of Pakistan, honor of the armed forces, and martyr souls of Pakistan and Kashmir, and for the freedom of Palestine.
The same ceremony was conducted at the District Complex Rawalakot, Poonch Division headquarters, where a large number of teachers, students, members of civil society, citizens, and district administration officers attended the event.
The ceremony started with a siren at 9:00 a.m., which was followed by a guard of honor constituted by the police contingent.
PM AJK Anwaul Haq’s Message
While addressing the public during the Foundation Day ceremony, Prime Minister of Azad Jammu and Kashmir Chaudhry Anwarul Haq said that Azad Kashmir is making progress in every field. Azad Kashmir is a good example of human freedoms.
Prime Minister Anwarul Haq said that the Pakistani armed forces sacrificed their lives to protect the freedom of this region. Tribal Mujahideen and Pakistani forces, and our ancestors, made sacrifices for the freedom of this region.
He said that “Operation Banyan Marsus” has destroyed India’s supremacy. Operation Bunyan Marsus recognized Pakistan’s international status.
The success of Operation Bunyan Marsus is due to the efforts of the Chief of Army Staff, Field Marshal General Asim Munir. The Pakistani armed forces are the protectors of our lives and property.
Chaudhry Anwarul Haq further said that the Azad government will utilize all resources for the liberation of occupied Jammu and Kashmir. The day is not far when we will liberate occupied Kashmir and will reunite it with the rest of Pakistan.
He appealed to the people to also play a role in achieving this goal and provide all possible cooperation in the defense of the beloved homeland.
Finally, the Prime Minister of Azad Jammu and Kashmir said that the government is continuously working for the development, education, health, and basic facilities of the people so that Azad Kashmir can become a strong and prosperous region in every respect.
