MIRPUR (Kashmir English): Authorities in Mirpur impounded and seized two truckloads of substandard edibles and food items including ‘papad’ and ‘salantis’ during Mirpur authorities seize two truckloads of substandard edibles during surprise checking of commercial transport on Mangla-Mirpur Highway.
The checking of commercial transport on Mangla-Mirpur Highway was followed by a major operation by Azad Jammu and Kashmir Food Authority, Mirpur District, official sources said.
The Impounded trucks were later unloaded at the warehouse in Mirpur wherefrom, the samples of the confiscated edibles were sent to the laboratory for analysis, Food Authorities said.
Food Authority warning
The Food Authority have meanwhile warned the people running food business, to get their businesses registered with the Azad Jammu and Kashmir Food Authority as early as possible.
“Any unlawful and unregistered business will be sealed for onward legal proceeding accordingly,” the authorities warned.
