LEEPA VALLEY (Kashmir English): The Pakistan Army’s Leepa Guards launched the Tree Plantation Drive 2025 in Leepa Valley to plant over 100,000 saplings this year with support from civil and community representatives.

Through the Green and Lush Leepa campaign, the Pakistan Army Leepa Guards have started their 2025 Tree Plantation Drive within Leepa Valley Azad Jammu and Kashmirs (AJK). The launch ceremony drew many people while setting the goal to make Azad Kashmir’s stunning Leepa Valley more environmentally conscious and sustainable.

More than 100,000 saplings from different plant species will be planted in the entire valley as part of this year’s efforts to enhance the ecological welfare and aesthetic appeal of the region. The drive represents a comprehensive plan which aims to protect the environment and develop community-wide responsibility for natural resource management.

Senior military officials together with former assembly candidate Shaukat Javed Mir and members of the Tehsil administration and local political and social figures and journalists from the area joined forces in the inaugural ceremony. Multiple officials displayed their deep dedication toward tree plantation and environmental stewardship through their attendance.

Participants at the event stressed the significance of tree plantation through the famous saying ‘Whoever plants a tree builds a home in paradise.’ The message delivered precisely how the campaign aimed to create a prosperous natural environment that would serve both present and future generations.

The Leepa Guards and supporting organisations are expected to carry out the plantation activities throughout the year, covering both public and private lands. Special attention will be given to native species that thrive in the local climate, ensuring long-term growth and sustainability.

The initiative strives to achieve community involvement through its outreach program toStudents and ordinary residents and local officials. The organizers expect sustainable changes to the valley ecosystem from their strategic planning and continuous monitoring of the tree plantation initiative.

Such initiatives in Leepa Valley, along with national backing provide essential contributions to assure a sustainable future as worldwide environmental problems become more prominent.
