LAHORE (Kashmir English): The West Indies, Thailand, Scotland, Bangladesh, and Ireland women cricket teams are in Lahore to participate in the ICC Women’s World Cup Qualifiers to be played from April 9 to 19 in Lahore.
The West Indies, Bangladesh, Ireland and Scotland teams reached Lahore via Dubai on Friday morning.
The Thailand team is also in the provincial metropolis as they played a practice match against Pakistan on Friday afternoon at the Lahore City Cricket Association (LCCA) grounds.
The matches of the six-team event will be played at two Lahore venues, Gaddafi Stadium and Lahore City Cricket Association (LCCA) grounds.
The top two teams from the event will progress to the main event to be played later this year in India in September and October.
Australia Women are defending the title. Pakistan, if qualified for the main even, will play their matches at a neutral venue under the ICC’s hybrid model.
