HAVELI (Kashmir English): Ikram Shaheed won the Ramadan Night Volleyball Tournament in Haveli Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK), organised by the Pakistan Army, after an intense final against Nosherwan Adil.
The second annual Ramadan Night Volleyball Tournament has successfully concluded. The tournament was organised in collaboration with the Pakistan Army. The final match took place on Sunday between Ikram Shaheed Basahan and Nosherwan Adil Hallan Shumali, where Ikram Shaheed Basahan appeared victorious after an intense match.
Following the final match, a closing ceremony was held. The ceremony was attended by Assistant Commissioner Haveli, Sarfraz Shad, and Pakistan Army’s Colonel Shahzaib Rafi as chief guests. Other notable attendees included the President of Anjuman Tajiran, Waheed Chauhan, AEO Hameed Bukhari, and Shiraz Gilani, along with some members of civil society. The winning team was awarded a trophy and cash prizes in recognition of their performance.
During his speech, Assistant Commissioner Sarfraz Shad congratulated the organisers of the event on successfully hosting it. He also highlighted that this was the second annual Ramadan Night Volleyball Tournament, and the final event was a stimulating match between two strong teams. He praised both participant teams for their excellent gameplay, appreciating their enthusiasm for the sport. He also appreciated the crowd’s support, whose passionate support and slogans added to the excitement of the event.
The tournament took place over the span of two days and featured 12 teams. These teams were divided into two pools. The match provided the athletes with a good opportunity to showcase their skills in a competitive environment. These exchanges and powerful shots kept everyone on the edge of their seats.
Spectators have expressed their gratitude to the Pakistan Army for organising such an event during Ramadan. Many people have pointed out how these activities are not only good for physical health but also mental health. They also provide people with a chance to meet in engaging social interactions and share their passion for a shared interest.
