MUZAFFARABAD (Kashmir English): Azad Kashmir salaries will be distributed early this month. In a welcome relief for government employees and pensioners, the Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) government has announced the early disbursement of salaries and pensions for the month of March 2025. The move comes ahead of the upcoming Eid-ul-Fitr celebrations, ensuring that employees have financial support before the festive occasion.
According to an official notification issued by the Finance Department of AJK, the President of AJK has approved the disbursement of salaries and pensions on 24 March 2025. This applies to employees and pensioners of the Azad Government of the State of Jammu and Kashmir, including those working in semi-government organisations. Additionally, the salaries will be released without deductions for House Building Advance (HBA), Car Advance, or Motorcycle Advance, offering further financial relief to the employees.
By making this decision the region will see reduced financial challenges for many thousands of families. Eid-ul-Fitr brings increased household expenses which require better planning from government employees due to their salary advance release early enough to shop properly for essentials and manage financial obligations without facing late complications.
The authorities have received positive feedback for this step since it follows the government’s policy to offer assistance to workers throughout national and religious holidays. Pensioners alongside other low-income workers face constant financial challenges when spending money on Eid shopping and travel expenses and festival upkeep. Staff members can now celebrate Eid without worries because the early salary payment will help them spend happily during the festival period.
Deputy Secretary Finance Muhammad Gulzar authorized the notification which was distributed to Presidential Secretary and Prime Ministerial Principal Secretary and Finance Department staff members. Accountant General of AJK received instruction to manage the payment processing in a steady fashion.
The AJK government shows initiative in its effort to improve retirement planning by taking this important step. The policy decision highlights the benefits that arise from well-timed government interventions when such measures benefit citizens during significant religious events.
