TORONTO (Kashmir English): Hosts Canada were held to a 1-1 draw by Bosnia in the opening match of the second day of the FIFA World Cup 2026 at Toronto Stadium.
Canada started the match on the front foot and adopted an attacking approach from the outset, but it was Bosnia who struck first. Jovo Lukac put Bosnia ahead in the 21st minute, giving his side a 1-0 lead.
Bosnia maintained their advantage until halftime, with Canada unable to find an equalizer despite creating several opportunities.
After the break, Canada increased the pressure and continued to push forward in search of a goal. Their efforts were finally rewarded in the 79th minute when Gayle found the back of the net to level the score at 1-1.
Both teams continued to press for a winner in the closing stages, but neither side could convert their chances.
The match ended in a 1-1 draw, with both Canada and Bosnia earning a point from their opening World Cup encounter.
