LAHORE (Kashmir English): The Pakistan Cricket Board on Tuesday paid tribute to the renowned cricket fan, Chaudhry Abdul Jalil known as Chacha Cricket for his long-standing services and passionate dedication to the national cricket.
Chaudhry Abdul Jalil, famously known as Chacha Cricket, is a Pakistani cricket mascot who is regularly seen at cricket matches involving Pakistan.
He is easily recognized by his white beard, his full green kurta dress, and his white cap decorated with a sequined star and crescent moon.
Chaudhry Abdul Jalil has declared the ongoing series against Australia as his last series, after which the Pakistan Cricket Board has decided to honour him in a special way.
“Thank You Chacha Cricket”
“Thank You Chacha Cricket,” PCB said in a tribute to the iconic superfan. He is one of the most recognisable faces in world cricket crowds and is set to mark his farewell appearance at the third and final match of the Pakistan-Australia series at Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore on Thursday, bringing an end to a journey that has spanned nearly four decades across home and overseas fixtures.
To honour his spirit and love for cricket, the PCB shared a commemorative banner featuring Chacha Cricket alongside a collection of his most memorable moments, accompanied by a simple message: “Thank you, Chacha Cricket.”
“More than a fan, a symbol of unwavering support for Pakistan cricket,” the PCB wrote in a social media post, adding, “Thank you, Chacha Cricket, for a lifetime of passion, memories and loyalty.”
The PCB noted that Chacha Cricket has been present in stadiums for decades, encouraging the Pakistan national side. He is recognized as one of the Pakistan team’s most enthusiastic and loyal fans.
In its message, the Board said that Chacha Cricket is not just a fan but an important part of Pakistan cricket, who always supported the national team. The PCB also thanked the retiring superfan for his lifelong love, passion, and unforgettable memories.
