LAHORE (Kashmir English): Motorway Police issues important travel instructions for those traveling after Eid-ul-Azha 2026.

In the advisory, the motorway police stated that traffic flow is expected to increase on national highways and motorways at the end of the holidays.

While advising the drivers, the Motorway Police spokesperson stated that drivers should adhere to the prescribed speed while traveling and ensure safe driving.

All commuters are warned to strictly follow lane discipline, focus on the road while driving, and use seat belts. Completely avoid driving in a state of drowsiness or physical fatigue.

M-tag Deadline

The public should adopt a cautious driving style and fully comply with traffic rules. As temperatures across Pakistan are rising, the motorway police have stated that due to the intense summer weather, keep water and essential items with you while traveling.

Motorway authorities have given a warning to people regarding the replacement of old M-tags. According to the officials, the old M-tags will stop working after May 31, 2026.

People need to get M-Tags before May 31 so that they do not have problems and have to pay extra money.

The people in charge are saying that now people can get new M-Tags for free until June 1. After June 1, people will have to pay Rs 150 for a new M-Tag. From July 1, the price will go up to Rs300.

The authorities want people to get their new M-Tags as soon as possible. They do not want people to wait until the minute. People can get their M-Tags from special centers.

M-tags for Motorcycles

The federal government has decided to start the process of installing M-Tags on motorcycles in Islamabad from tomorrow (Feb 20), in the second phase of the campaign aimed at securing the federal capital.

The first phase of the campaign, installation of M-Tags on four-wheelers in the federal capital, is already underway. According to the city administration, the official launch of M-Tag installation on motorcycles will be on February 20.

Motorcycle owners will be able to obtain M-Tags at the city’s designated points from February 20. It is mandatory to bring motorcycle documents and an identity card for the M-Tag.
